Após o bem sucedido "Mirage" lançado em 2010, "Intense" será o quinto álbum do Dj holandês e conforme dito, o mais diversificado de todos eles, atravessando gêneros desde o progressive e o trance até o clássico e o rock. Segundo Armin, ele tentou incorporar o maior número de instrumentos reais possíveis.
